30 Day Full-Body Detox
I began my detox journey around last spring when I was trying to rid my body of a viral infection. I found an herbal tea to help cleanse the liver and I consumed this twice a day for three months alongside an Alkaline diet. What I discovered in the midst of this three month plan was that so much more than I expected had transformed in my body. My digestion was great, my bloating was gone, I had more energy, better brain function, and for the first time in my entire life I didn’t have ANY PMS symptoms. It was quite fascinating to me that I had been working on my gut and reproductive health for so long but it was my liver (which controls and impacts both digestion and hormones) was the system that needed more help. This self-discovery really solidified my knowledge of the body’s interconnected web and the reasons why it should be cared for with a holistic approach.
After this first detox I decided that this is a healthy reset that I want to provide my organs at least every 6 months. Eight months later my body was begging me for a cleanse but this time, I wanted to do more than just my liver. Upon more research I discovered an herbal formula to cleanse the liver, kidneys, gut, cells, and lymphatic system and now I had my work cut out for me. This plan had 30 days of detox and 60 days or restorative supplements which if you ask me, is the right way to detox. Because I was doing this one in the middle of winter, I decided not to do a full Alkaline diet and just stick to a clean plant-based diet because my body requires a lot more protein and carb nutrients to make it through the cold months… and you know I’m a big advocate for listening to your body!

I felt the cleanse working in stages; first I felt weak and light-headed, then I had a few days of more frequent bowel movements, then my nose was running non-stop, but after just six days I started to feel stronger, more energetic, clearer, and I was craving high nutrient foods. After 4 consistent weeks I felt amazing and had no temptation to go backwards on my regimen. Of course some days felt more challenging than others, especially when I was traveling and had other influences around, but what’s the point of trying if you can’t commit! Each day got easier and easier.
